Grand Lake 2012 Club Championship ladies' golf results

It took two weeks of Tuesday play to determine the 2012 Club Championship Winners for the ladies of the Tee Bags at the Grand Lake Golf Course. After 36 holes of play, Phyllis Loftsgard was awarded 2012 Club Champion with a combined gross score of 171. Laura Summers took 1st in Flight with a combined gross score of 204 followed closely?by Carol Lechtenberg who was awarded 2nd Place Flight with a combined gross score of 208.?It wasn't so easy to determine President's Cup Winner for 2012.? After 36 holes of play using net scores, Linda Appelhans and Elaine Jacoby were even with a combined net score of 147 each. It was necessary for Linda and Elaine to continue in a play-off. At the end of 2 additional holes it was neck and neck until Linda Appelhans took the second hole and is the 2012 President's Cup Winner.?Elaine Jacoby took 1st Place Flight with a combined 36 hole net score of 147;?followed by Kathee Johnson 2nd Place Flight with a combined net score of 153.?Other winners during the Tournament included Phyllis Loftsgard and Jane Bodmer tied for first place with low putts, followed by Laura Summers in second for low putts. Phyllis Stephens chipped in on holes #7 and #9, while Carol Lechtenberg had a chip in on hole #11.

The following are the results for the Tee Bags for Tuesday, Aug. 28.

Allowing time for a mama moose and her twins to clear the #1 tee box, the ladies of the Tee Bags at Grand Lake Golf Course enjoyed a wonderful day on the course playing "Blind Holes.? The game consists of all players playing 18 holes.?After the round 9 holes are chosen at random and the scores from those holes, minus 1/2 handicaps determine final winners.?It was a tie for first place between Phyllis Loftsgard and Kathee Johnson with final net scores of 34.5.? Jeanne Lucas was the lone 2nd place winner with a net score of 35.5. Ivy Howard and Linda Appelhans finished with a tie for third place with a net score of 36 each. Joan Ophaug won Closest to the Pin on hole #7 for a special prize package. Phyllis Loftsgard had a beautiful birdie shot on hole #17.?Low putts, 1st place went to Jane Bodmer with a 32, followed by Kathee Johnson, 33 and Laura Summers, 35.
